SSL Certificates & Mobile Ubiquity

Every day consumers are using mobile devices for browsing the web and checking/sending e-mail. It is important to ensure that your SSL Certificate works with mobile devices if you intend to offer secure services to mobile device users.

SSL Certificates For E-Mail Servers

When using Microsoft Exchange, Outlook Web Access (OWA) or if you primarily intend to use the SSL Certificate to secure POP3 and IMAP we recommend Trustico® Premium as it is our most affordable and efficient option at only $160.55 per year. When purchasing for multiple years additional discounts are available.

If you would like to perform testing with your mobile device before purchasing a production certificate please visit our Comodo® 30 Day Free Trial product pages to find out how to get a free trial.

Wildcard SSL Certificates Mobile Ubiquity

Wildcard SSL Certificates function with most mobile devices, however, some mobile devices do not understand the asterisk in the Common Name (CN) of the SSL Certificate and may display an error message. We do not recommend the use of wildcard SSL Certificates with older mobile devices or devices that do not explicitly state that the use of a wildcard SSL Certificate is supported.
